What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy, as the name suggests, is a therapy which uses the aroma of pure organic essentials oils of fruits, flowers, leaves, herbs, and resins such as Frankincense and Myrrh. The treatment helps to relax and strengthen the nervous system, while stimulating the elimination of toxins. The oils also work on the immune system and have been found to strengthen and heal the body's energy centres, and to maintain vitality.
This ancient healing art dates back to 3000 B.C. - it is the use of Essential Oils to treat specific health complaints and can act as a preventative measure against illness. It can also be used to help you relax and deal with stress. For whatever reason you choose to have aromatherapy treatments it will always help to reduce tension, discourage infection, energise, stimulate and balance the body and mind. Aromatherapy aims to treat the source of the problem and can benefit those experiencing the following conditions:
- Stress & Anxiety
- Insomnia & Fatigue
- Headaches & Migraines
- Muscular Aches & Pains
- Painful joints / Arthritis
- Poor Circulation
- Respiratory Problems - Sinusitis, Asthma
- Digestive Disorders / IBS
- Skin Conditions
- PMT& Menopausal Symptoms
What does a treatment involve?
Your first session will include a consultation to discuss lifestyle, general health and specific conditions, after which Essential Oils are chosen and blended to suit your own individual needs. It is normal then for you to receive a massage using this blend (although certain conditions may require inhalation or a compress) and a small amount of the blend is given to you for use at home in warm baths.
During your massage you will experience a real sense relaxation - this is the combined effect of the aroma of Essential Oils, a warm and peaceful room, quiet background music, big towels to keep you snug and the therapeutic sensation of skilled massage.
Your modesty is protected at all times during a treatment.
